Assistant Restaurant Manager – Albie, The Hoxton, Southwark
About the Role
We are looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join us at The Hoxton, Southwark, specifically for Albie. Set against the vibrant South Bank, The Hoxton offers an exceptional experience across:
- 192 luxurious rooms
- A sweeping ground-floor restaurant, bar, and terrace
- The Apartment – a bespoke events space
- A striking rooftop restaurant and bar with both indoor and outdoor seating
- Coworking space spread over six floors
Responsibilities
As the Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will:
- Lead by example – Inspire and empower the team to deliver exceptional, genuine experiences with warmth and confidence.
- Collaborate with management – Work closely with the Restaurant Manager and kitchen leadership to ensure seamless integration between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
- Support day-to-day operations – Assist with rotas, training, payroll checks, and basic financial administration.
- Onboard and train staff – Ensure new team members are equipped with **brand standards, service protocols, and safety procedures".
- Foster a positive culture – Provide regular feedback, in-the-moment coaching, and developmental support to build an inclusive, motivated team.
- Engage with guests – Be present on the floor, anticipate guest needs, handle feedback, and resolve complaints with professionalism and care.
- Maintain high standards – Oversee food and beverage presentation, cleanliness, stock control, and compliance with food safety and licensing regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement – Share guest insights and operational ideas with the broader Food & Beverage (F&B) team to enhance the Seabird experience.

Requirements
We are seeking:
- Previous experience as a supervisor or assistant manager in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant or bar environment.
- A solid understanding of front-of-house operations, service standards, and people management basics.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods.
- English proficiency (fluent speaking, with a plus for additional languages).
- Organisation and attention to detail, paired with calm under pressure and adaptability.
- A people-first leadership style – prioritising personality, empathy, and teamwork over ego.
- Passion for hospitality – a desire to create unforgettable guest experiences.
- A hands-on attitude – someone who enjoys teamwork and supports colleagues’ growth.
