About the role

As an Assistant Roaster, you’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional coffee every day, supporting production, quality, and operations to ensure every batch meets our standards for flavour, consistency, and craft. Working closely with our roasters, you’ll gain hands-on experience across roasting, sensory evaluation, and production processes.

Joining the team at this stage means being part of a growing operation and contributing to the evolution of our roasting capabilities.

What you’ll do

  • Support daily roasting operations, including weighing, loading, and packaging roasted coffee.
  • Assist in monitoring and recording roast data to ensure consistency.
  • Prepare and label green and roasted coffee for production and QC.
  • Maintain equipment and workspace cleanliness to the highest standards.
  • Support cupping and quality checks alongside the roasting and QC teams.
  • Participate in continuous improvement of production and roasting processes.

Who you are

  • You’re practical, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
  • You have a keen interest in coffee and are motivated to learn the craft of roasting.
  • You’re attentive to detail and take pride in doing things well and consistently.
  • You’re collaborative and communicate clearly with others.
  • You enjoy both the physical and technical aspects of hands-on work; this is a manual role, and you'll be happy moving both green and roasted coffee throughout the day.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
