Assistant Security Manager
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Security Manager to join our team at a vibrant, modern state-of-the-art building.
The successful candidate will assist the Head of Security in ensuring the safety and security of employees, customers, and assets. You should blend a friendly, approachable personality with sharp perception, discipline, and the ability to handle complaints professionally while delivering accurate information.
A customer-oriented background is essential.
Position Details
- Pay Rate: £48,600 per annum
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (60 hours per week)
- Location: EC4A 4BL

- Valid SIA DS license and CCTV Licence
- Proven managerial experience or equivalent

Main Duties

- Supervise daily security team operations, conduct team checks around the building, and ensure these are recorded
- Report any issues to the Head of Security
- Liaise with clients and tenants on security-related matters, providing advice and suggestions
- Ensure high standards of staff appearance, safety, and performance, addressing accident reports and procedural compliance
- Comply with Ward's Policies and Procedures
- Partner with service providers and customers’ representatives to meet site requirements effectively
- Maintain professional conduct during shifts and manage staffing, including sick leave, holidays, and records
- Manage site systems (Key/Holds, Access, CCTV, Fire & Security) and ensure all staff are trained
- Oversee equipment management, defect reporting, and stock control for emergency contingencies
- Respond to emergency situations, conduct investigations, and ensure timely reporting
- Prioritise Health & Safety—evacuate visitors, staff, and contractors safely while minimising risk

Required Skills & Experience

- Must deliver excellent customer service
- Five years’ experience leading teams of 10+ officers as a Supervisor/Manager
- Three-year history of working in a Security Control Room
- Competent IT skills
- Ability to think and act quickly in emergencies/under pressure
- Can produce clear verbal/written reports
- Maintains a high standard of personal presentation
- Reliability—punctuality/attendance ensures team effectiveness
- Works well as part of a team
- Deals calmly and confidently with public demands
- Understands equality & diversity principles
- Demonstrates interest and commitment to Ward’s clients
- Experience in incident resolution, evidence gathering, reporting
- Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with security staff, clients, contractors, and the public
