Assistant Security Manager
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Security Manager to join our team at our client’s state-of-the-art building in London.
The successful candidate will assist the Head of Security to ensure the safety and protection of employees, customers, and assets. They will need to demonstrate a friendly yet disciplined approach, ensuring high standards in customer service and crisis management.
Position Overview
- Title: Assistant Security Manager
- Location: EC4A 4BL
- Salary: £48,600 per annum
- Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (60 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & Security Operations
- Supervise daily security team operations, conduct team checks, and ensure records are accurately maintained
- Report any security-related issues to the Head of Security
- Liaise with clients, tenants, and representatives on security matters, providing guidance and recommendations
Staff & Compliance Management
- Uphold high standards of staff appearance, performance, and safety
- Ensure adherence to Ward Security policies, procedures, and assignment instructions
- Maintain a safe working environment and act on accident/reporting protocols
- Enforce compliance with contract policies across all team members
System & Site Management
- Manage key control, patrol systems, access control, CCTV, fire safety, and security operations
- Ensure staff are trained in system procedures and duties
- Monitor all equipment for defects, maintaining replacements for contingencies and proper stock management

Emergency Response & Health & Safety
- Oversee emergency responses and ensure investigations/reporting is timely and professional
- Lead and support in safe evacuations (staff, visitors, and contractors) during emergencies
- Prioritise staff and visitor health and safety as per security protocols
Required Skills & Experience
Essential Criteria
- 5+ years of leadership experience as a Supervisor or Manager, leading a team of 10+ officers
- 3-year minimum working experience in a security control room
- Proven ability to lead under pressure and manage emergencies efficiently
- Strong IT skills for monitoring and reporting
- Exceptional customer service with ability to resolve issues professionally
- High standards of punctuality, attendance, and professional conduct
- Experience in incident identification, evidence collection, and resolution
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (with staff, public, clients, and contractors)
Certifications & Licences (Mandatory)
- Valid SIA Door Supervisor & CCTV Licence
- First Aid at Work Certificate
- Demonstrable experience supported by references
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Incident Management experience
- IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) Certification
- Customer Service Level 2 qualification
- Management Level 3 qualification
