The post holder will lead and influence the improvement of administrative and operational processes across services within the Directorate by driving the development, embedding, and optimisation of efficient ways of working. Working closely with Service Managers, General Managers, and other key stakeholders, the post holder will lead service improvement, promote consistency of practice, and support delivery against key performance objectives.
The role requires a high level of autonomy, with the ability to work independently while demonstrating initiative, sound judgement, and personal accountability in managing competing priorities, workloads, and deadlines. The post holder will lead by example, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, championing best practice, and working collaboratively with colleagues to identify opportunities to enhance administrative processes, improve efficiency, and support the delivery of high-quality services.
A strong understanding of operational performance, service delivery, and the vital role of effective administrative support in delivering high-quality patient care is essential. The post holder will work closely with operational and clinical colleagues to monitor performance, support the effective day-to-day running of services, respond to operational challenges, and contribute to the achievement of Directorate objectives. The role requires the ability to analyse information, prioritise workload effectively, and support the delivery of safe, efficient, and responsive services.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
