Role Description

The Assistant Shipping Manager is a full-time, on-site position based in Wirral, responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate movement of goods from Evoke Creative’s manufacturing facility to customers and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily dispatch management: Coordinate dispatch schedules, ensuring orders are prepared and shipped promptly.
  • Shipment documentation: Prepare, verify, and finalise all shipping paperwork (e.g., invoices, packing slips, customs documentation).
  • Order accuracy & logistics: Oversee packing, labelling, and loading to prevent errors and delays.
  • Collaboration:
    • Work closely with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to maintain stock accuracy.
    • Assist in resolving delivery issues and meeting shipping deadlines.
  • Carrier & shipment management:
    • Monitor carrier performance.
    • Track shipments in real time.
    • Ensure compliance with company procedures and regulations (e.g., export/import laws, safety standards).
  • Process improvement:
    • Identify opportunities for streamlining shipping workflows.
    • Promote safe, orderly, and efficient working practices in the shipping area.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse operations, with expertise in:
    • Coordinating dispatch schedules
    • Managing shipment documentation
  • Strong organisational & time-management skills, able to:
    • Prioritise multiple orders under pressure.
    • Meet tight deadlines without compromising accuracy.
  • Attention to detail in:
    • Order verification
    • Labelling & packing checks
    • Record-keeping compliance
  • Technical proficiency:
    • Familiarity with shipping, inventory, or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Shipper, ShipStation).
    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel for data tracking, Outlook for communication).
  • Communication & collaboration:
    • Ability to liaise effectively with internal teams (production, warehouse), carriers, and external partners.
  • Health & safety awareness:
    • Knowledge of warehouse/production safety protocols.
    • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks (e.g., standing, lifting, moving goods).
  • Location requirement:
    • Must be based in Wirral (onsite commitment required).
  • Desirable:
    • Previous experience as a Shipping Co-Ordinator or Assistant Transport Manager.
    • Relevant vocational training or qualification in:
      • Logistics
      • Supply chain management
      • Related fields.
