Assistant Shop Manager

Assistant Shop Manager – Hope House Children’s Hospices

Bangor (Part-Time, Permanent – 22.5 hrs/week)

Are you looking for your next opportunity as an Assistant Shop Manager? Join Hope House Children’s Hospices in playing a vital role in delivering ‘Our Mission’—helping every child with a life-threatening condition live their best life.


The Role

Location: Bangor (hopehope.shop) Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (22.5 hrs/week) Working_pattern: Includes Saturdays/Sundays + 2 full weekdays or 1 full weekday + 2 weekday half-days. Salary: £25,787–£28,471 p.a. (FTE basis)

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

  • Deliver exceptional customer service while meeting sales targets.
  • Design and execute high-standard sales floor displays.

Stock & Inventory

  • Manage stock generation, processing, and transfers.
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels and correct handling of new goods.
  • Capture Gift Aid at every opportunity to maximise revenue from donations.

Team & Operations

  • Support the Shop Manager in staff/volunteer leadership to meet commercial goals.
  • Oversee Cyber till / EPOS system, cash handling, daily banking, and weekly reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, health & safety, and data protection.

Logistics & Efficiency

  • Develop external relationships for stock supply.
  • Optimise staff/gift aid volunteer coordination for peak efficiency.

About You

We’re looking for an Assistant Shop Manager with:

✅ Retail experience (preferably with management/supervisory roles) ✅ Confident self-organiser who thrives under pressure ✅ Strong customer-focused mindset and sales-driven attitude ✅ Comfort with POS systems, cash handling, and gift aid administration ✅ Ability to maintain staff motivation and commercial targets
