Assistant Shop Manager
Location: Lochee, Dundee Hours: 35 hours per week (additional hours may be available) Schedule: Varied shifts including weekends at the Lochee Shop (5.30 AM – 5 PM), 7 days a week (rotating). Only apply if you can commit to this schedule.
About the Role
Bayne’s the Family Bakers own this position. You’ll be our Assistant Shop Manager, working closely with the shop manager to ensure seamless operations in our bakery. You’ll take on a mix of supervisory and hands-on duties, maintaining high standards in customer service and team performance.
Previous supervisory or management experience is required for this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure outstanding customer service and operational standards are consistently met.
- Support the Shop Manager with scheduling, colleague rotas, and team management.
- Support new colleagues through induction training and ongoing development.
- Maintain compliance with:
- Food hygiene and safety regulations
- Legal and health & safety standards
- Company cash handling and security processes
- Product quality and production standards
- Uphold retail KPIs, profitability, and cost-efficiency goals.
- Manage stock efficiently while maintaining freshness and variety of products.
- Empower and develop team members in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Take a "hands-on" role, including baking, attending to customers, completing sales, and serving hot drinks and filled rolls.

Requirements
- Proven supervisory or team management experience, preferably in retail or the food-to-go industry.
- Strong professionalism, enthusiasm, and confidence in leadership roles.
- Experience in:
- Delivering profitability and efficiency goals (KPIs).
- Managing stock and inventory reduction costs.
- Ability to work flexibly across a rotating schedule, including weekends and odd hours.
- Knowledge of food safety and retail practices is essential.
