The Programme: Good Foundations
This is a two-year Trainee Assistant Site Manager programme designed to develop talent and experts in construction management.
What You’ll Gain
- On-site experience: Work across real live projects, gaining hands-on practical experience critical for your role.
- Formal academic training: Complete a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment through four residential, one-week block sessions annually at an industry-leading college.
- Site-based NVQ qualification: Work towards a practical NVQ Level 3 qualification, building the skills you’ve learned in real-world scenarios.
- Networking: Train alongside Bellway trainees from multiple divisions and participate in workshops to build managerial skills.

The Role: Trainee Assistant Site Manager
Under direct supervision, you’ll support the Site Manager and Construction Manager, assisting with day-to-day management of a construction development to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective works while ensuring excellent quality, customer service, and adherence to deadlines.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist in ensuring compliance with Group/Regional Health & Safety procedures, following relevant standards and building regulations.
- Deliver all production requirements in full accordance with technical and planning documents, as well as warranty provider requirements (such as NHBC, LABC Services).
- Immediately report any issues that could impact company performance to the Site Manager, Construction Manager, and Construction Director.
- Ensure Health & Safety, Environmental, and Waste Management Policies are adhered to, supporting the Site Manager.
- Ensure practical site completions align with sales requirements, delivering mutual compatibility.
- Maintain site security and good practice at all times.
- Work according to relevant standards, Codes of Practice, Building Regulations, and current warranty requirements.
- Fully comply with Bellway’s Customer Care Policy to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Manage all site administration, adhering to divisional office requirements.
Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience in construction is highly desirable.
Required Qualifications
- GCSE in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or equivalent)
- (A-levels are beneficial but not essential)
- (Level 2 Apprenticeship — Strongly preferred)

- Effective communication & listening (relating to clients, contractors, and teams)
- Good administration (managing paperwork, schedules, site records)
- Meeting deadlines (thriving in fast-paced environments with multiple priorities)

- Proficient in IT & Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Working Conditions
