Assistant Site Surveyor

Wates SmartSpace – Assistant Surveyor Role (Southern Region)

Right now, we’re seeking talented individuals to join our team as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, supporting our projects across the Southern region.

About the Role

As part of Wates, you’ll dive into the heart of our projects, supporting the wider Commercial Team to ensure seamless delivery—fulfilling budgets and quality expectations. If you thrive on detail, love working with numbers, and have a passion for the constructed environment, this is your role.


Responsibilities

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents to ensure project viability.
  • Subcontractor Management: Support oversight of subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payments, and contract negotiations.
  • Cost Monitoring: Track project spend, identifying Financial risks/opportunities and maintaining budget alignment.
  • Reporting: Help develop and analyse cost reports and forecasting, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Site Visits: Participate in site inspections to monitor progress and compliance with contractual terms.
  • Final Accounts: Assist in preparing final accounts, closing contractual disputes, and reconciling costs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project teams to streamline delivery, providing insights to support problem-solving.
