Assistant Store Leader – Customer Experience

SKIMS is a solutions-oriented brand creating the next generation of underwear, loungewear, and shapewear.

As an Assistant Store Leader focused on Customer Experience, you will partner closely with the Store Leader to elevate every guest interaction and ensure our high standards for service are consistently met. You support creating moments that make customers feel valued, seen, and confident.

This role offers a unique opportunity to lead the frontline of our retail experience while driving team performance and sales. You coach and inspire the team to deliver elevated service in a high volume environment, all while maintaining a focus on business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the store with a Customer Obsessed mindset, setting the tone for warm, inclusive, and authentic customer experiences that reflect SKIMS mission and values.
  • Own the sales floor by proactively engaging with customers, supporting Supervisors and Team Members, and driving conversion through our selling behaviors.
  • Drive sales results by coaching your team on product knowledge, personalized styling, and consultative selling techniques—using data and KPIs to identify opportunities and celebrate successes.
  • Share specific, in the moment coaching and feedback to your team to sharpen their skills, boost confidence, and elevate the customer experience. You Inspire Yourself & Others by leading from example.
  • Use Operational Agility to balance urgency while maintaining an elevated floor experience during peak traffic moments, making smart decisions on team zoning, floor coverage, and customer engagement.
  • Set clear behavior expectations and motivate your team to exceed daily and monthly sales targets, aligning all actions with the broader business goal to Drive Results.
  • Lead by example on the sales floor, staying visible, approachable, and proactive. Whether you are zoned as the Sales Captain or not, you spot challenges early and provide immediate support to your Supervisors, Team Members, and customers.
  • Foster a culture of Learning Agility by encouraging open dialogue, feedback, and ongoing development.
  • Partner with your Store Leader and ASL team to analyze sales data, identify trends, and adjust strategies quickly to maximize productivity and profitability.
  • Ensure the store environment is always welcoming, well maintained, and visually presentable to support an elevated customer experience from beginning to end.
  • Communicate transparently and consistently with your team to build trust, accountability, and ownership of the customer experience and store performance.
  • Recognize and reward behaviors and achievements that contribute to a high performing culture that puts customer at the forefront.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of retail leadership experience with a strong focus on sales floor leadership, coaching, and driving business results.
  • Proven ability to own the sales floor and driving high levels of customer engagement and conversion.
  • Demonstrated skill in delivering impactful, real-time coaching and feedback that elevates team performance and confidence.
  • Strong understanding of sales KPIs and the ability to use data-driven insights to inform coaching and action plans.
  • Ability to adapt coaching and leadership style quickly in a fast-paced environment, while maintaining composure under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to motivate diverse teams and cultivate a positive, high performing culture.
  • Genuine passion for creating personalized, inclusive customer experiences and building lasting customer relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to addressing team and customer challenges.
  • Passion for the SKIMS brand and the ability to represent our values authentically in every interaction.
  • Must be able to stand and remain physically active, moving throughout the store and accessible to customers for 100% of the scheduled shift.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and stretch for product, as well as lift, carry, and move items up to 40 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
  • Full Time Availability Requirements: Open Availability. We value flexibility and expect you to be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
