Assistant Store Manager – Ambleside (Management – AMB), UK Retail

About the Role

We’re seeking an Assistant Store Manager to partner with our Store Manager, driving store success through leading daily operations, ensuring a collaborative team environment, and upholding the Mountain Warehouse brand.


Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

  • Partner with the Store Manager to lead a motivated, engaged, and high-performing team.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive work environment, encouraging teamwork and shared goals.
  • Drive training and development, empowering the team to excel and grow.
  • Ensure clear communication and trust alignment across the team.
  • Keep the team informed with product knowledge for outstanding customer service.

Operational Excellence

  • Assist in the daily running of the store, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain high visual merchandising and housekeeping standards.
  • Prioritise health and safety, including regular risk assessments.
  • Support recruiting and retention of top talent for a strong team.

Sales & Performance

  • Support meeting and exceeding sales targets, driving profitability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to sustain store success.
  • Oversee stock levels, ensuring smooth replenishment and delivery management.
  • Implement proactive loss prevention strategies.

Customer Experience

  • Lead by example in exceptional customer service.
  • Address customer feedback promptly to ensure satisfaction and brand loyalty.
  • Represent Mountain Warehouse with enthusiasm, professionalism, and positivity.
  • Build local community connections for a welcoming shopping atmosphere.
