Assistant Store Manager
Assistant Store Manager – Crawley (Full-Time, Permanent)
We are a national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a painful genetic skin blistering condition.
Are you a motivated and passionate individual looking to make a difference?
As Assistant Store Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the Store Manager in delivering strong store performance while creating an inclusive and diverse work culture. You’ll embody our DEBRA values, fostering an environment where colleagues and volunteers feel empowered to drive impact for the EB community.
Our Crawley retail store is hiring a Full-Time, Permanent Assistant Store Manager on a 35-hour per week, 5-days-a-week basis with a gross salary of £24,096.80 per annum (or £13.24 per hour).
About the Role
You’ll need to be driven by ambition, with a strong development of customer service, retail administration, and the ability to work under pressure—supporting seamless operations in our Crawley store. You’ll guide colleagues and volunteers, meet targets, and step up to managerial responsibilities when needed.

- Support recruitment, induction, and ongoing management of both paid colleagues and volunteers

Customer & Store Excellence
- Maintain high standards of customer service and store presentation
- Ensure positive guest experiences through tailored service delivery

Commercial Performance
- Assist in maximising store profits through physical and digital channels
- Oversee tracking of sales and financial targets to enhance contribution

Merchandising & Operations
- Apply visual merchandising skills to maintain an appealing, high-density store
- Collaborate to generate quality donated goods to meet collection goals

Emergency Management
- Depute for the Store Manager to ensure operational continuity and leadership when required
Who You Are
- Motivated and passionate with a genuine desire to support those living with EB
- Proven customer service skills with a strong attention to detail
- Experience in retail management, team leadership, and administrative roles
- Ability to work autonomously and thrive in fast-paced environments
