Assistant Store Manager
Assistant Manager – Cardiff
As an Assistant Manager at Lucy & Yak, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the store’s success, collaborating with the Store Manager to deliver an exceptional shopping experience and grow our brand community. You’ll be an expert in customer service, shop standards, and team leadership—driving daily operations, sales targets, and a vibrant in-store culture.
What You’ll Be Doing
Customer-Centric Approach
- Become a subject matter expert on Lucy & Yak, covering everything from products and sizing to sustainability and brand ethics.
- Foster a customer-focused culture where every interaction exceeds expectations, creating exciting, memorable experiences.
- Ensure all customer interactions align with our values and enhance our community.
Team Development, Coaching & Training
- Lead by example, cultivating a positive and dynamic work environment.
- Motivate and coach team members to achieve goals and inspire collective success.
- Provide real-time feedback to improve individual and team performance.
- Assist the Store Manager in recruitment, training, and development, ensuring the team embodies our brand.

Sales
- Partner with the Manager to hit sales targets and KPIs.
- Collaborate on strategies to drive growth, enhancing the shopping experience.
Operational Support
- Oversee daily operations, including opening/closing, health & safety, and staff workflows.
- Help plan and run evening events and collaborations to build a lively in-store atmosphere.
- Manage staff rotas, leave requests, and ensure full shop floor coverage.
- Support merchandising standards while maintaining the store’s exciting, accessible, and brand-true aesthetic.
Stock Management
- Assist in optimising inventory levels and minimising discrepancies.
- Carry out stock takes and coordinate product recalls with the Manager.
Community Engagement
- Organise and execute events and collaborations, driving engagement.
- Expand our community through in-store and social media efforts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).

- Experience as a benchmark:
- 2+ years of customer-facing experience (essential).
- Previous supervisory/team management experience (essential).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven track record of driving sales and meeting targets.
- Social media savvy: Comfortable navigating platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Adaptable and confident: Excels at creative problem-solving and on-the-spot decision-making.
