Our client is a high-profile volume retail store, renowned for value-for-money and exceptional customer service. They are on an impressive upward trajectory with significant new store openings over the last few years and are recruiting for future Store Managers.
Reporting to the Store Manager and responsible for managing a strong team, the Assistant Manager role is crucial in driving forward both turnover and revenue, grounded in lean principles. Central to this role will be maintaining strong focus on financial KPIs including wages, wastage, and shrinkage as well as non-financial factors such as customer service/feedback, internal audits, and compliance with standards.

Responsibilities
- Managing daily department operations
- Acting as Duty Manager for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager
- Supporting Store Management in achieving company KPIs
- Ensuring the team delivers exceptional customer service
- Delivering industry-standard store presentation, effective stock control, minimising shrinkage, and compliance with administration procedures
- Full compliance with all Health & Safety policies and regulations
- Utilising management information to drive strategic business decisions

Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- A proven track record in a fast-paced retail environment
- A commitment to being on the shop floor—this is no office-based role!
- Strong operational, leadership, planning, organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- An approach aligned with customer service and target-driven excellence
- High levels of motivation, ambition, and self-starter initiative
