Assistant Store Manager - (Assistant Head Coach) - Bicester

In our NIKE Retail Stores, we use special titles to describe our positions:

  • Store Manager → "Head Coach"
  • Assistant Store Manager → "Assistant Head Coach"
  • Department Manager → "Coach"
  • Team Leader → "Lead"
  • Sales Associate → "Athlete"

Are you the Assistant Head Coach this team needs?


Responsibilities

As an Assistant Head Coach, you will:

  • Collaborate with the Head Coach to craft an exceptional shopping experience and ensure service excellence for our customers.
  • Coordinate, support, and supervise a diverse team, fostering an excellent work environment—including:
    • Recruitment, development, performance management, and staffing.
  • Implement operational excellence, leveraging processes and tools to:
    • Meet sales targets.
    • Optimise service quality.
    • Boost customer satisfaction and efficiency.
  • Oversee critical departments:
    • Commercial, Athlete, and/or Consumer Experience.
  • Assist the Head Coach in executing NIKE’s strategy, including:
    • Sustainability initiatives.
    • Membership programs.
    • Digital service rollouts.
  • Provide weekly reports on:
    • Store activities.
    • Local market trends.
    • Customer insights.
  • Ensure full compliance with NIKE’s standards and guidelines.
  • Work closely with business partners across stores and HQ.

Requirements

Here’s what you bring to the game:

Skills & Experience

  • Passion for NIKE and/or love of sports (this one’s a must!).
  • Retail & leadership experience (former roles preferred but not mandatory).
  • Excellent written and spoken English command.
  • Proven track record of serving exceptional customer experiences.
  • Coaching abilities to develop and lead a high-performing team.
  • Strong communicator with a customer-first mindset.
  • Availability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Extensive retail experience, with a focus on management.
  • Enthusiasm for sports and/or sports fashion.
  • Accessibility for weekend/night shifts.
