About the Role

We’re seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in leading our retail team and driving daily operations. This role blends leadership, customer service, and operational management.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Be a hands-on leader who can step in wherever needed.
  • Ensure the store runs smoothly while meeting performance goals.

Responsibilities

An Assistant Store Manager at Clarks would have these key responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the retail team.
  • Support the Store Manager in driving sales performance and customer experiences.
  • Ensure smooth daily operations, including opening, closing, and shift rotations.
  • Manage Inventory, Point of Sale (POS) systems, and stock control.
  • Achieve KPIs and ensure store performance aligns with company targets.
  • Train and develop team members to enhance skills and motivation.
  • Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally.
  • Maintain a visually appealing and well-organised store floor.
  • Work collaboratively with Head Office in planning and execution of store strategies.

Requirements

Experience and skills that will help you succeed in this role include:

  • Previous retail leadership, supervisory, or keyholder experience is preferred.
  • Strong ability to drive KPIs, results, and team performance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to lead and inspire.
  • Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.
  • Flexibility to work a 7-day shift pattern, including weekends and bank holidays.
  • Comfort in fast-paced retail environments.
  • Basic knowledge of POS systems, inventory management, and Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.
