Assistant Store Manager

Introduction

This independent storage business is doing things differently — smart tech, brilliant service, and serious growth ambitions. They're now looking for a driven Assistant Store Manager to support the day-to-day running of their Harrow site and grow into a key part of their success story.

Role Overview

  • Location: Sunbury
  • Package: £35,000 – £40,000 + performance-related rewards
  • Industry: Storage / Retail / Customer Service

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the Store Manager in driving sales, service, and operational performance across the site.
  • Help lead and coach a small, motivated team — contributing to a positive and goal-driven culture.
  • Convert customer enquiries into sales and assist in maximising occupancy through confident upselling.
  • Deliver a top-tier customer experience across phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Assist with day-to-day operations, safety, and compliance to keep the store running smoothly.
  • Support with cash handling, invoicing, and basic financial administration.
  • Keep the site looking sharp and on-brand at all times.
  • Handle customer queries and resolve issues professionally and efficiently.
  • Step up to deputise for the Store Manager in their absence.
  • Occasionally support with vehicle operations when required.

Main Skills Needed

  • Experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within retail, storage, or hospitality.
  • A natural people person with early leadership experience and a passion for developing others.
  • Commercially aware with an understanding of sales targets and how to hit them.
  • Proactive, reliable, and comfortable taking ownership when needed.
  • Organised and tech-savvy — confident using Microsoft Office and digital tools.
  • Must live within 30 minutes of Harrow.
