NHS Fife Assistant Support Services Manager
NHS Fife is seeking a highly motivated, resilient, and people-focused individual to join our existing Support Services management team based at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy as an Assistant Support Services Manager.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a leader to support the operational management and delivery of domestic services in line with the National Cleaning Services Specification. Working closely with Support Services Manager, Deputy and Assistant Managers, and multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, effective, and patient-centred services.
Key Responsibilities
- Be proactive in providing a positive team and person-centred approach to leadership.
- Engage and support the Domestic Services team.
- Foster positive working relationships with other team members and wider staff within NHS Fife.
- Manage large staff groups, including managing staffing resources, attendance, and performance in line with NHS Fife values.
- Ensure compliance with Once for Scotland and NHS Fife policies, infection control, and Health and Safety Standards.
- Investigate incidents, compile written reports, and manage competing priorities.
- A person with strong organizational and prioritization skills along with the ability to manage competing demands in a fast-paced environment would be well suited to this post.
- Excellent standards of written communication.
- Implementation of electronic systems.
- A desire to develop a digital workforce.
- Sound working knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Knowledge and understanding of cleaning practices.
- Previous large-scale cleaning experience and use of mechanical cleaning equipment would be desirable.

Working Hours
As Domestic Services is a 24/7 service, there is a requirement to cover other shifts (dayshift, backshift, nightshift, and weekends) which can be at short notice to cover absence.

Requirements
- Become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
- Have the relevant permission to work in the UK.
- It can be evidenced through a number of routes including specific types of visa as well as EU settled and pre-settled status.
