Assistant Tax Manager
Department: Tax
Location: Exeter, UK
Compensation: Up to £52,500 per annum dependent on experience
Description
As Assistant Tax Manager, you will join our dynamic Tax team to support them through a busy and exciting period of growth. With a strong working knowledge of tax practices and an excellent ability to form positive relationships, you will work on your own allocation of personal tax files and assist our Senior Manager in managing and maintaining our HNW client base. This is a great opportunity to learn from an experienced team, whilst applying your experience and skills to make a positive contribution to the performance of the department.
This role supports home-based or hybrid working, with occasional travel when required (Leeds, Nottingham, Edinburgh, London, Worthing, or Exeter).

Key Responsibilities
- Ensuring that personal tax compliance and procedures are adhered to whilst meeting appropriate statutory deadlines.
- Providing high quality personal tax compliance for a diverse and complex portfolio of clients.
- Building positive relationships with clients and assisting with queries, whilst advising clients on any changes to legislations and practice where appropriate.
- Supporting senior members of the team with queries within your client base and drafting advisory work where appropriate.
- Providing assistance to junior team members to support them with technical knowledge when required.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- ATT Qualified (essential)
- Previous experience within personal taxation.
- Demonstratable experience of preparing tax returns and managing a portfolio of personal tax clients.
- Excellent working knowledge of all areas of tax compliance work.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
