Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Assistant Underwriter to support our underwriting team in assessing risk and administering insurance policies.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build or further develop a career within the insurance industry.

Fluency in Italian is essential, as the role involves communication with Italian-speaking clients or partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist underwriters in evaluating insurance applications and assessing risk exposure.
  • Prepare and review policy documentation, endorsements, and renewals.
  • Liaise with brokers, clients, and internal teams to gather necessary information.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within underwriting systems.
  • Support the underwriting process by analysing data and producing reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and underwriting guidelines.
  • Handle general administrative duties related to underwriting operations.
  • Provide excellent customer service, including responding to queries in a timely manner.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in Italian (spoken and written).

Desirable (Non-Essential) Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in the insurance industry or underwriting environment.
  • Understanding of insurance principles and risk assessment.
  • Experience working with underwriting systems or databases.
