Job Description

Assistant Underwriter, PRS (12 month FTC)

Department:

Personal Risk Services (PRS)

Reports To:

Underwriting Operations Manager

Location:

London

Job Summary

As the PRS business continues to grow, the Assistant Underwriter plays a critical role in supporting the HNW underwriting team. This position is responsible for managing a high volume of mid-term adjustments (MTAs) via phone and email, ensuring accurate and efficient service delivery to brokers and clients. Assistant Underwriters work closely with underwriters, receiving ongoing training and coaching to support their professional development and progression toward underwriting roles.

While some automation exists through our broker portal, the Assistant Underwriter remains central to handling bespoke HNW portfolio tasks, requiring frequent broker interaction and a strong focus on service excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Underwriting Support

  • Assist underwriters in evaluating and processing HNW risks across all business classes (property, valuables, motor).
  • Handle MTAs such as additional property locations, address changes, and vehicle additions, within delegated authority limits (typically £1M–£4M, with specific thresholds for jewellery, fine art, etc.).
  • Ensure all risk information & documentation is complete, accurate & compliant before binding cover.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
