We are now looking for an underwriter to join our Bradford based team. Working closely with the Chief Underwriting Officer and senior stakeholders, this role will focus on analysing, evaluating and rating new, renewal and mid-term submissions, ensuring all processing and policy documentation is accurate, compliant, and aligned to company standards.

This is an exciting opportunity for either an experienced underwriting professional or a numerate, motivated graduate looking to build a long-term career in insurance.
Key Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
Underwriting within prescribed authority levels across new business, renewals and mid-term adjustments, as well as supporting underwriting performance and profitability across allocated programmes Working closely with Actuarial / Pricing teams to review pricing calculations and ensure appropriate rating of products Liaising with administrators and customers to assess and refine pricing requests from an underwriting perspective and maintaining a strong focus on customer value, fair pricing and regulatory compliance at all times. Producing monthly performance reviews, identifying key trends, movements and required actions Supporting quarterly reporting on expected loss ratios and portfolio performance.
We Are Open To Two Types Of Candidates
Experienced Underwriters will bring a strong background in underwriting, insurance or reinsurance (ideally 5+ years), combined with solid financial and analytical skills to assess risk and portfolio performance. You will have experience collaborating with pricing teams and interpreting actuarial outputs, alongside the confidence to make sound decisions within underwriting authority levels. A high level of organisation and attention to detail is essential, as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships. Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is also required.

We are equally keen to hear from graduates or early careers applicants with strong numeracy and analytical ability, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a proactive attitude with a genuine willingness to learn. An interest in financial services or insurance is important, and full training will be provided across products, systems and Excel. As part of our commitment to professional development, successful candidates will be expected to achieve a minimum Cert CII qualification within the first 18 months and continue progressing towards Dip CII and beyond as they build a long-term career with us.
