Assistant Vice President - Banking & Wealth Origination

Assistant Vice President – Wealth & Banking Origination

Supporting Banking, Markets, and Family Office Coverage

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) is a senior, strategic role that bridges Private Banking, Investment Bank Division (IBD), Markets, and Family Office coverage to drive origination, structuring, and execution of tailored solutions for Ultra-High-Net-Worth (UHNW) clients, single/multi-family offices, and high-growth businesses.

The ideal candidate thrives at the intersection of wealth management, capital markets, and advisory, with a proven ability to cultivate relationships, identify wealth-creation events, and deliver integrated client solutions.

About the Role

This role demands deep disciplinary expertise—spanning private banking, family office advisory, investment banking, and structured products—to refine origination techniques and enhance coverage workflows. The AVP will:

  • Integrate client-focused solutions across banking products, capital markets, and family office advisory within a defined coverage area.
  • Deliver end-to-end origination support, from prospecting and pipeline development to transaction execution and post-close engagement.
  • Develop innovative approaches to engagement, ensuring alignment with Citi’s broader Wealth, Banking, and Markets franchise objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Banking & Wealth Origination

  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with Private Bankers, IBD coverage, Markets specialists, and product teams (e.g., Investments, Capital Markets, Lending, Trust, Structured Solutions) to design differentiated client solutions.
  • Drive origination workflows:
    • Prospect and develop the pipeline by identifying wealth-creation events (e.g., IPOs, M&A, sponsor liquidity, secondaries).
    • Prepare pitch presentations, relationship reviews, and product proposals tailored to UHNW needs.
    • Support new business pitches, RFPs, and strategic client dialogues alongside senior coverage.
  • Expand relationships:
    • Build internal networks across IBD, Markets, Research, and Wealth to foster introductions.
    • Engage externally with intermediaries, advisors, and centres of influence to drive referral flow.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
