Markets Operations at Citi – Collateral Schedule Negotiations Specialist

Markets Operations represents the evolution and transformation of Operations in the Finance Industry, delivering unique products and solutions. Our global and diverse Operations teams include Middle Office, Settlements, Margin, Asset Servicing, Listed Derivatives, and Clearing & Commodities. We support a broad range of Capital Markets activities:

  • Fixed Income: Foreign Exchange (FX), Rates, Credit, Municipal, Cash, and Derivatives (where Citi is a consistent top 3 player)
  • Equity: Cash, Derivatives, Prime Brokerage, Futures, Listed Derivatives, Clearing, and Foreign Exchange Prime Brokerage (leveraging a significant growth program)
  • Syndicates: Supporting FI (Financial Instruments) and EQ (Equity) new issues and IPOs

Operations teams are the core of trade lifecycle activities, collaborating with Sales & Trading, Compliance, Legal, Finance, and HR, and playing a critical role in shaping the client experience. Our Client Relationship Group (CRG) focuses on delivering first-class service to top-tier clients globally.

About the Role

As part of the Collateral Schedule Negotiations team, you will support global Markets businesses across products, regions, and divisions, driving collateral optimization to reduce costs and improve scalability. Your role:

  • Negotiates eligible collateral profiles for uncleared derivatives (bilateral and triparty arrangements)
  • Maintains and updates negotiation templates while ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Aligns collateral schedules with credit risk tolerances, operational capabilities, and market objectives

What You’ll Do

✔ Develop and nurture knowledge of collateral definitions and uncleared derivatives margin regulations ✔ Provide white-glove client service, ensuring seamless collateral schedule negotiation and execution ✔ Design and implement robust processes, controls, and governance frameworks ✔ Drive initiatives for risk reduction, cost optimization, and revenue growth ✔ Partner with Legal, Operations, Technology, Client Onboarding, Markets businesses, and Risk teams ✔ Mentor and develop talent and foster a culture of continuous improvement

What We’ll Need From You

  • Education: BA/BS degree (preferred)
  • Experience:
    • Agreement Management, CSA (Collateral Support Agreement) and Eligible Collateral Schedule Negotiations
    • Client Onboarding
    • Derivatives Confirmation Drafting
    • Collateral and Margin Management
    • Strong knowledge of uncleared margin regulations, securities products, risk frameworks, and compliance
    • Familiarity with triparty collateral management platforms
    • Client-facing experience with a sensitive, high-trust environment
  • Skills:
    • Attention to detail
    • Stellar communication and negotiation ability
    • Risk-aware mindset
    • Self-starter, proactive, and influential with a results-driven approach
