The Temple University's Department of Enrollment Management is searching for an Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Admissions!

Salary Range: $130,000-$150,000

Position Summary

Temple University seeks an accomplished and forward-thinking leader to serve as the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Undergraduate Admissions. The AVP will provide strategic direction and leadership in developing and implementing comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract, admit, and enroll a diverse and talented student body, including transfer students.

The AVP provides strategic leadership for undergraduate recruitment and admissions operations in support of the university's comprehensive enrollment strategy. The role is responsible for developing staffing models and budget plans that align resources with institutional enrollment goals. Working in close partnership with the financial aid and information technology teams, the AVP leads the design and implementation of business processes that improve operational efficiency and enhance the prospective student experience.

The AVP oversees policies and procedures that ensure the efficient and effective processing of applications and leads the management and continued development of SLATE as the institution's central CRM platform. The position also evaluates and advances the use of emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to strengthen recruitment strategy and operational effectiveness.

The AVP builds and leads a high-performing team that uses market analysis, territory management, and best practices to achieve the university's enrollment goals. In addition, the AVP partners with the Vice President for Enrollment Management to align recruitment and student success strategies in ways that intentionally advance university goals. This role will cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with campus partners across schools and colleges, academic affairs, student affairs, and alumni engagement, as well as with external stakeholders, to foster a campus-wide culture of recruitment. In collaboration with the Vice President, the AVP will also assist in the development and implementation of a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan and perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in higher education administration, enrollment management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressive leadership experience in enrollment management within higher education.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education

Required skills and abilities:

  • Strong understanding of enrollment management best practices and trends.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and leading data-informed recruitment and enrollment strategies, including enrollment forecasting and target-setting.
  • Proven ability to manage complex operations and supervise senior-level staff across multiple functional areas.
  • Experience working with and optimizing CRM platforms, especially SLATE or equivalent systems.
  • Admission including aggressive, national recruitment and selection experience
  • Financial aid, including understanding of net revenue models and aid administration
  • Strong knowledge of current trends in student recruitment, enrollment marketing, demographic shifts, and higher education policy.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across university divisions and with senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.

Essential Functions Of Position

  • Strategic Leadership: Working with the VP for Enrollment Management, assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive strategic enrollment management plan. Lead the development and execution of Temple's recruitment strategy, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and values.
  • Admissions: Lead and manage the admissions team, including domestic, international, and transfer admissions operations. Build and sustain a high-performing team that leverages market analysis, data and best practices to manage recruitment territories and effectively achieve university enrollment goals.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
