MUFG, one of the world’s leading financial groups with a rich heritage spanning over 350 years, is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Loan Participation to join their Operations Division in London. As Assistant Vice President, you will play a pivotal role in managing operational obligations across a diverse portfolio of Syndicated and Bilateral Loans, ensuring compliance with facility agreements and market practice. What you'll do:
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members to ensure completion of daily obligations and accurate new deal capture in accordance with head office rules and regulations.
- Verify the input of junior team members’ work to maintain high standards of accuracy across all loan participation activities.
- Assist line management in controlling daily workflows by assigning tasks efficiently to meet deadlines and operational requirements.
- Act as the first point of escalation for issue resolution within the team, using your specialised knowledge to solve routine issues while escalating complex matters as needed.
- Contribute to the creation, review, and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure they remain accurate and compliant with regulatory standards.
- Facilitate the implementation of projects by providing general support whenever necessary, helping drive improvements across the department.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders including Front Office, Lenders, Borrowers, and other departments to administer events on loan portfolios.
- Build relationships throughout MUFG to establish a peer network that supports effective inter-departmental collaboration.
- Operate as a product specialist by providing subject matter expertise on loan participations when required.
- Ensure booking of loans, fees, bank income, guarantees, commitments, risk, and sub-participation is completed according to Head Office Rules, Contracts/Agency Agreements, and Compliance policy.

What you bring:
- Previous experience working in a manual operations environment is essential for success in this role.
- Experience operating under time pressure in fast-moving environments while maintaining strong attention to detail is highly valued.
- Proven background in loan operations is required to manage complex syndicated and bilateral loan portfolios effectively.
- Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications are necessary for daily tasks.
- Excellent communication skills enable you to interact confidently with stakeholders at all levels within the organisation.
- A proactive approach combined with motivation ensures you can operate with urgency while prioritising work accordingly.
- Sound judgement demonstrated through structured decision-making skills is crucial for resolving issues efficiently.
- A calm demeanour allows you to perform well under pressure while managing large workloads and tight deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education is beneficial; however equivalent experience will also be considered favourably.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills foster positive relationships within teams and across departments.
