Associate (2–5 PQE) – Catastrophic Injury Team
About the Role
We are recruiting an Associate (2–5 years Post-Qualification Experience) to join our Catastrophic Injury team at Clyde & Co, Manchester.
This is a pivotal position within a high-performing and nationally recognised practice, where you will represent leading insurer and corporate clients on complex, high-value personal injury claims, with a focus on catastrophic and large loss matters arising from Employers’ Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL). Cases include serious and life-changing injury litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing a caseload of complex multi-track claims, particularly catastrophic and large loss EL/PL matters
- Assisting partners and senior lawyers on high-value, technically demanding cases
- Conducting detailed liability investigations and quantum assessments
- Instructing and liaising with counsel, experts, and stakeholders across the claim lifecycle
- Drafting pleadings, witness statements, and other legal documentation
- Supporting strategic case management and early resolution strategies for clients
- Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering exceptional service standards
- Contributing to team knowledge-sharing and wider business development initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales with 2–5 years’ Post-Qualification Experience (PQE)
- Proven experience in handling Employers’ Liability (EL) and Public Liability (PL) claims
- Knowledge of multi-track litigation, particularly in catastrophic or high-value loss matters
- Strong technical legal skills with a proactive approach to case management
- Outstanding communication and stakeholder management ability
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Commercial awareness with a client-focused mindset
