Associate (2-5 PQE) - Incentives and Remuneration
Senior Remuneration & Incentives Counsel – Employment Team
About the Role
The Remuneration and Incentives team is based within the Employment department at Mishcon de Reya, closely collaborating with the corporate and tax practices to deliver expertise across transactional work and broad-based business support.
Mishcon has experienced significant growth in recent years—both organically and through acquisitions—making this an ideal time to build additional capacity to serve our expanding client base. We take a holistic approach, blending transactional and advisory expertise into a cohesive team where specialists often work seamlessly together on complex incentive solutions.
Relocation is likely to be required in some circumstances such as being based in one of our main offices (London, Oxford or Cambridge), though we support both remote and flexible working arrangements as appropriate.
Our Work
- Comprehensive advice on equity & cash-based remuneration solutions – Designing, drafting, and implementing statutory and bespoke incentive schemes tailored to employees, Non-Executive Directors (NEDs), and consultants.
- Supporting business growth – Optimising and de-risking remuneration arrangements, aligning rewards with international governance requirements, and crafting onboarding offers, termination packages, and long-term compensation strategies.
- Advising executives, clients, and boards – We also represent individual executives (including high-profile individuals) in contentious matters, often striking negotiated outcomes that enhance compensation terms around equity incentives.
- Strategic alignment with business objectives – Working closely with clients to design customisable remuneration solutions that match their operational goals—both short and long term.
Our Clients
We represent a diverse range of businesses across all sectors, including:
- Entertainment, life sciences, technology, fashion, private equity, and emerging growth companies.
- UK-based and international firms, from FTSE-listed businesses and private family-owned businesses to high-growth founders, PE-backed ventures, and employee-owned organisations.
- Management teams, non-executives, and globally mobile professionals, covering market trends, structure reviews, and relocation compensation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
