ITFM Associate, IT Spend Transparency Engagement

London | Confirmed engagement | 2 August start | 8 weeks

We are looking for a mid-level associate with real IT financial management experience to join a confirmed client engagement starting 2 August, running for eight weeks, with fairly frequent time at the client's London site.

The brief is straightforward to state and demanding to execute: bring structure and evidence to a client's technology spend, so their leadership can see where money goes, why, and whether it is buying the right things.

What you will do:

  • Assess how the client's IT spend currently flows through their financial reporting, cost centres, and vendor invoices, and identify where the data cannot yet support proper analysis.
  • Build a practical spend categorisation model covering hardware, software, cloud, labour, and facilities.
  • Apply Run, Grow, Transform classification to split spend by business intent, and make the judgment calls where spend does not sort cleanly.
  • Benchmark the client's spend mix against relevant peers.
  • Recommend governance so spend stays transparent after the engagement ends.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What we are looking for:

  • Working knowledge of ITFM foundations, ideally grounded in Gartner ITFM or the TBM Taxonomy.
  • Direct experience assessing financial reporting structures for IT spend, not just reading someone else's reports.
  • Comfort building a taxonomy from messy source data.
  • Sound judgment, not just a process, when spend does not fit neatly into a category.
  • Strong client-facing communication, given the amount of time you will spend on site.

This is client work, not internal analysis. You will be in the room with stakeholders, defending your categorisation choices and your recommendations. If that is the kind of work you do well, we would like to hear from you.
