The Role and the Next Steps in Your Career Journey
If you are an ambitious individual with a great attitude and are ready for a new challenge, we’re looking for an Associate to join our Accounts and Business Services team in our Winnersh office, to support us with ongoing client growth. You will be working closely with our subsidiary company, Donald Reid Group (DRG) who are based in the same office as the FLB team.
Your Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as an Associate in this team will include:
- Delivering a high-quality service to clients across various industries
- Preparation of statutory accounts
- Preparation of corporate tax computations and returns
- Bookkeeping, management accounts, and VAT returns
- Assisting with the design and implementation of best practice financial processes for businesses, including the use of relevant technology

To Be Successful in This Role
If you can demonstrate the following skills and experience, we can help you grow and develop:
- A real interest in a career in accountancy
- Excellent IT skills and a strong interest in technology and electronic systems
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-motivation and confidence in managing and prioritising a workload
- Team player
AAT Accounting Qualification progress, a degree or similar level of study in a relevant field (a bonus to have, but not essential)
By working alongside experienced colleagues, you will also learn how to:
- Meet agreed commitments and deadlines
- Make sure work is accurate, avoiding unnecessary mistakes
- Be proactive in seeking work
- Provide regular updates on work to management
- Recognise urgent deliverables and pitch in to help the team when needed during peak workloads

- Keep documentation and tracking up to date
- Progress towards professional qualifications
Training and Outcomes
By joining FLB as a trainee, our study programme will offer you the support you need to become a qualified Accountant (via AAT/ACA/ACCA qualification). With our study package, all study expenses are borne by FLB, and each student receives additional study leave plus the opportunity to buy further study leave on top of the annual holiday entitlement.
