Associate - Birmingham | £55,000-£60,000

An established Birmingham architecture practice is hiring an Associate Architect to step into a leading role on live projects as the current Directors gradually pass more day-to-day delivery down the studio. Senior-level ownership, direct client relationships, and a defined route into the next generation of practice leadership.

The work is technically demanding across multiple sectors, including large-scale industrial, energy, residential, and commercial. This is a practical, delivery-focused practice, and buildability is at the heart of how the studio operates.

You'll be running projects from concept through to on-site, holding the client relationships that come with them, and mentoring the wider team on both the design and technical side.

The Associate Architect role, day to day:

  • Leading live projects from feasibility through to delivery on site, with full ownership of the technical and delivery stages.
  • Holding senior client relationships, with commercial and contractual responsibility.
  • Contributing to fee proposals, business development, and the practice's wider growth.
  • Mentoring project architects, technologists, and junior team members.
  • Working closely with Directors as they gradually step back from day-to-day project delivery.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
