The Opportunity

We are seeking an Associate to join our Asset Management team in the North and help infrastructure clients make better long-term decisions about their assets. You will lead advisory commissions across the water sector, working with clients to improve resilience, sustainability, value for money and service outcomes. You will work on projects in the UK and further afield with high-profile and major asset infrastructure owners/operators alongside our industry-leading colleagues. You will be applying the principles of asset management and leveraging your leadership skills, infrastructure sector experience and technical expertise to help clients overcome their challenges and develop future business opportunities.

As a strategic thinker you will be capable of identifying areas of opportunity for improvement and innovation, ready to push established boundaries to develop asset management solutions that will deliver value for our clients. You will have experience of leading and coordinating, be adept at building, managing and maintaining strong long-term relationships with clients, partners, colleagues and stakeholders. You will have practitioner or consultancy experience of applied asset management, with working knowledge of whole-life asset management in areas such as: strategic investment planning, organisational structure, governance, performance and operations, procurement and supply chain, risk and resilience.

Your Day-to-day Responsibilities Will Include

  • Service delivery – technical leadership the delivery of commissions working within multi-disciplinary and consultancy teams.
  • Project management – leading and responsible for the financial success and outcomes of your commissions.
  • Building client relationships and supporting business development – including building internal networks, identifying and developing opportunities with clients, and producing proposals/tenders.
  • People management and development – supporting the professional development of others in the team, including undertaking line management duties.

We Are Seeking Candidates With The Following

  • Degree in Engineering, Asset Management, Infrastructure Finance, Business Administration and/or Development Finance and relevant chartership, professional qualification and membership of a professional body, or equivalent work experience.
  • A track record working in, or advising, an infrastructure asset management organisation, in the water sector or other regulated sectors.
  • Awareness of asset management principles and experience in several of the above-mentioned whole-asset life management areas
  • Experience in business development and production of proposals and tenders.
  • A background in people management and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
