Position Overview
- Salary: £70,000 – £80,000 per annum

The Opportunity
As an Associate Building Surveyor, you will:
- Take on leadership of projects, shape client relationships, and contribute to the exponential growth of the Building Surveying team.
- Operate across the full project lifecycle, delivering technical excellence and steering projects to success.

This role blends technical mastery with commercial awareness, allowing you to impress clients, manage risks, and drive strategic decisions for large-scale improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Technical Expertise
- Deliver a comprehensive range of Building Surveying services, including:
- Structural, condition and acquisition inspections
- Preparing specifications, tender documentation, and technical reports
- Managing contract administration (e.g., PMAs, JCT standardization)
- Key tasks include:
- Diagnosing building defects and providing cost-effective solutions
- Coordinating public-sector housing refurbishments and improvements
- Advising clients on building compliance and statutory consent applications

Client Engagement & Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Lead projects from inception to completion, owning all stages.
- Build and nurture long-term client relationships through exceptional delivery.
Team & Compliance
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to provide integrated project solutions.
- Align commercial objectives, including stimulating project profitability and financial forecasting.
- Ensure adherence to health & safety, regulatory, and procedures frameworks.
About You: Requirements & Qualifications
Essential
- Chartered Surveyor (MRICS) or member of the Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB).
- Proven 5+ years of Building Surveying experience, either as an Associate Building Surveyor or Senior Building Surveyor.
- In-depth knowledge of public-sector housing and education projects.
- Strong technical expertise including:
- Condition assessment and defect diagnosis
- Familiarity with modern construction contracts (e.g., NEC, JCT, FIDIC).
- Exceptional communication skills (oral and written).
- Ability to influence and negotiate confidently with clients, contractors, and teams.
- Proactive and solutions-focused. Seeks improvement, takes initiative, and problem-solves.
- Strong project management, scheduling and resource allocation.

Nice-to-Have
