We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI-generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.
At UHS, we’re committed to providing a flexible working environment where possible. Whether you are balancing family, study, or your wellbeing with your career, we want to support you so you can help our patients.
At UHS, we proudly champion individuality, recognising that outstanding care is only possible with a diverse, inclusive team. We’re committed to creating an anti-racist, anti-discriminatory environment where everyone feels valued, safe, and empowered to make a meaningful impact in our communities. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in building a healthcare community where everyone can belong, thrive, and contribute.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your first priority will be to help establish and deliver the HIOW RSH elective hub as it transitions from PPG to UHS over the next five years. This is a rare opportunity to be involved from the start, working with multidisciplinary teams, specialties and partner organisations to support a smooth transition and successful operational launch. You will then help embed consistent pathways and processes across all UHS-run hubs.
We are looking for a dynamic, motivated individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, complex environment and is ready to bring fresh thinking, strong operational insight and energy to a key transformation role. This is an excellent opportunity to play a central part in sustainable service recovery, improvement and long-term change.

- Curiosity, tenacity and the confidence to turn ideas into practical improvements that make a real difference for patients and teams.
- A calm, resilient and patient approach, with a strong commitment to living our values: Patients First, Working Together and Always Improving.
What You’ll Do
- Take a leading role in the operational delivery of the HIOW RSH elective hub, while maintaining oversight of all UHS elective hubs to support consistent pathways and processes. You will work as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team supporting the wider CCTA Care Group and will be initially based at SGH (first 12 months).
- Build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including specialty lead clinicians, matrons and operational managers within the Care Group and across the Trust.
- Bring focus, creativity and sound judgement to a varied portfolio, from project delivery to policy and finance, while keeping patients at the centre of every decision.
- Work closely with the CGM and wider management team to share ideas, support colleagues, deliver projects and meet shared deadlines, including strategic plans, reporting requirements and transformation objectives.
