The Role
We are looking to appoint an Associate Civil Engineer - Water Engineering to join our team in Leicester, where the bulk of our water team are based.
You'll be joining a supportive network as part of a national team, and can expect to receive valuable training, guidance and genuine scope for career development.
Your Responsibilities
- Delivering outstanding client service to meet discipline targets.
- Leading and coordinating project resources, liaising directly with clients for successful outcomes.
- Driving business development through fee proposals, bidding, and commercial project delivery.
- Building and maintaining sustainable client relationships across sectors and regions.
- Preparing and overseeing designs, technical documents, and reports.
- Managing programming, planning, resource allocation, and team utilisation.
- Mentoring and developing team members, nurturing talent and fostering a positive culture.
- Providing strategic input to grow the Civil Engineering service.
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Representing the business at client meetings, networking events, and industry functions.
- Leading multi-discipline bids, tenders, and client presentations.
- Monitoring and managing the commercial and financial performance of projects and teams.
- Promoting cross-discipline collaboration in both business development and service delivery.
- Undertaking formal client relationship management (CRM) to secure long-term, profitable work programmes.

What We're Looking For
Our Associate Civil Engineer - Water Engineering will have:
- Relevant degree with strong skills and design experience in the UK Regulated Water Sector.
- Chartered Engineer status (Engineering Council).
- Proven ability to foster a collaborative and confident team environment.
- Experience managing complex clients/customers and teams.
- Clear and confident communicator (written, verbal, and digital).
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, IHT).
- Self-motivated, personable, efficient, and enthusiastic.
- Strong leadership, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong multitasking skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to provide QA governance and ensure consistent standards.
- Capability of advising on liability and risk issues.
- Commitment to ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
