Overview of the Department/Section
Transaction Banking at MUFG is driving global expansion with a thriving presence across all continents. The EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region is part of our Global Transaction Banking Division, offering clients Cash and Liquidity Management (CLM), Foreign Exchange, Trade, and Working Capital solutions through fintech innovation, proprietary channels, and third-party platforms.
Within Transaction Banking EMEA, we specialize in:
- Trade, Working Capital, Cash & Liquidity Management
- Product, Sales, Implementation, Client Services, Risk & Compliance
- Delivering end-to-end digital and banking solutions to Corporate, FI (Financial Institutions), and Non-Banking Financial Institutions (NBFI) clients.
Main Purpose of the Role
As a Client Service Account Manager (CSAM) for Cash & Liquidity Management Sales, your role will be to deliver premium client service, strengthen relationships, and ensure a seamless experience for our global corporate and FIG (Financial Institution Group) clients—primarily based in the UK, with regional opportunities across our network.
Key Accountabilities:
- Accountable for managing a portfolio of high-value clients, including origination and maintenance of existing cash & liquidity management businesses.
- Act as the SME (Subject Matter Expert) in cash and liquidity management products, UK/European regulatory compliance, and market trends.
- Serve as a go-to contact for coverage bankers and clients, advocating for optimal solutions while proactively managing risk and regulatory compliance.
- Support senior transaction bankers in servicing complex cash and liquidity solutions.
- Influence and cross-sell the full suite of cash & liquidity products to optimize client engagement, not limiting sales to single-product deals.
- Engage globally on our pipelines to support regional and MUFG-wide RFIs/RFPs, ensuring alignment of responses across EMEA and other regional functions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Account Growth & Revenue Diversification
- Lead the growth of existing corporate & FIG client revenue in cash & liquidity to meet individual, regional, and global sales targets.
- Identify wallet-share expansion opportunities and clients’ unmet needs to enhance cross-selling of products (e.g., cash, FX, trade, working capital).
- Implement mature account management strategies through structured wallet planning.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
