About the Role
Join us as an Associate Commodity Manager – Civils & Installations! This role supports the Civils & Installations Commodity Manager, providing commercial and procurement expertise across civils construction, installation services, and subcontracted works. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring supplier continuity, compliance, and commercial effectiveness across live projects and frameworks.

- Support the Civils & Installations Commodity Manager in executing commodity strategies for civils and installation services
- Assist in sourcing, onboarding, and managing civils and installation contractors, aligned to framework and project requirements
- Manage framework agreements and subcontractor contracts, ensuring adherence to commercial and governance standards
- Participate in tendering and RFQ activities, including:
- Data gathering
- Bid evaluation
- Commercial assessment
- Provide supplier cost, lead-time, and capacity insights to internal stakeholders for project planning and bidding
- Monitor supplier performance on metrics such as:
- Cost control
- Delivery timelines
- Safety and quality standards
- Risk flagging
- Support cost control, pricing updates, and commercial reporting across the civil and installation portfolio
- Track market conditions, labour availability, and cost drivers impacting civils and installation services
- Build strong cross-functional working relationships with:
- Delivery teams
- Engineering
- HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality & Environment)
- Finance
Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- Strong background in procurement, supply chain, commercial, or subcontract management within construction, highways, or infrastructure
- Knowledge of civils works and installation services (e.g., traffic signal installations, ducting, foundations, reinstatement, or roadside works) is desirable
- Understanding of subcontractor sourcing, framework agreements, and supplier performance management
- Advanced organisational and analytical skills with a meticulous focus on detail
- Excellent communicator, capable of collaborating across teams and with external suppliers
- Familiarity with UK highways frameworks, NEC contracts, or civils procurement is beneficial (desirable)
