Competition Associate – 2–4 PQE

The Role

You will join a leading competition team in the London office, advising across:

  • UK & EU competition law
    • Merger control
    • Cartel investigations
    • Abuse of dominance cases
    • Follow-on and standalone damages
    • High-value competition litigation

The practice frequently handles multi-jurisdictional matters, often at the forefront of global antitrust enforcement. You will:

  • Gain exposure to cutting-edge work, including:
    • Cases before the European Commission
    • UK Competition and Markets Authority
    • High Court litigation
    • Strategic advisory mandates for prominent global clients
  • Work closely with top-tier partners on high-profile cases & deals
  • Take early responsibility in a collaborative, intellectually rigorous environment

What They’re Looking For

  • UK- or EU-qualified lawyer with 2–4 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE)
  • Strong academic credentials from a leading academic institution
  • Demonstrated interest in the full spectrum of competition and antitrust law
  • Experience in one or more of the following:
    • EU & UK merger control for large-scale deals
    • Article 101 / EU Chapter 1 cases, including cartel investigations
    • Abuse of dominance cases (Article 102 / EU Chapter 2)
    • Competition litigation, including follow-on damages actions
  • Ideal experience:
    • At a top-tier international or leading domestic firm (London/Bruxelles)
    • Engaging with the European Commission or UK competition authorities
  • Key skills & traits:
    • Excellent drafting and analytical skills
    • Commercial awareness
    • Ability to thrive under pressure
    • Collaborative mindset
    • Confidence managing client-facing responsibilities
