Associate - Construction Department: Real Estate Commercial Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Manchester Reporting To: Neil Armstrong

Description We are looking for a construction lawyer with 3+ years of post qualification experience to join JMW’s highly regarded Construction team based in Manchester city centre.

This is an opportunity to join some of the leading lawyers in the construction and engineering sectors to grow and develop this key area of practice. The successful candidate will receive full support to grow as a lawyer and achieve his/her career goals, in a positive supported environment.

Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be a self-motivated construction lawyer ideally with a mix of experience of non-contentious and contentious work to join as an Associate, Senior Associate or Partner and will work on a variety of work across the spectrum of construction and engineering in the UK.

We are looking for a qualified lawyer with experience in construction law. You are looking for lift off, we offer a launch pad.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise We are looking for a driven and ambitious Associate around 3 years’ PQE, though we welcome applications from candidates with broader experience. In addition, you will have: Experience in construction law preferably non-contentious but the role will also involve contentious work A knowledge of key areas of the law including the main published standard forms of Building Contract Experience of providing practical commercial advice which a lay client understands Ambition and aptitude to improve and develop as a lawyer A focus and attention to detail in client care Experience of managing relationships with clients Experience of managing other fee earners, the role will involve supporting junior members of the team A drive to market to clients including cross selling to colleagues working in diverse areas of law Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail A strong sense of commerciality in your approach and advice to clients Excellent organisation skills.
