The Opportunity
We’re on an exciting growth journey and are looking for a driven, enthusiastic Associate Cost Manager to join our thriving team in Porton Down, working on our DSTL account. You'll be joining in a pivotal leadership role to oversee, manage and grow our programme of works ranging from £5m and beyond.
Please note that due to this role being for a Government client, security clearance will be required, and this will be undertaken once you have secured the role. You must be a British national to be eligible to undergo the security clearance process.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage a team of contractors as well as DSTL client management to oversee a programme of works split into a variety of projects.
- Utilise strong pre contract skills and experience - including cost estimation, budget setting, RIBA stage expertise, contract administration and change management - to take oversee work from feasibility through to final account.
- Allocate and manage the correct resource required from the team to deliver a variety of projects across a variety of wider programmes.
- Shape and drive strategic growth of the account whilst maintaining excellent ongoing service of existing provision of work.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the client, working as an embedded member of the team to provide excellent cost management services.

Our Ideal Candidate
- Must have eligible to achieve/already have SC Clearance.
- Experience coming from a PQS consultancy background.
- Excellent leadership credentials - stakeholder/client and team management.
- Chartership highly preferable.
- Defence experience and/or work on Government accounts highly beneficial.
- Contract Management platform experience.
- M&E experience is beneficial but not essential.
- Experience using CostX and Sypro.
