Job Description
Turner & Townsend seeks an Associate Cost Manager / Commercial Manager to drive excellence in our prestigious infrastructure-based projects.
Ideal candidates will bring:
- Substantial experience in cost management tailored to dynamic project environments
- A consultative leadership style, fostering trust through constructive dialogue

- Establish professional, transparent relationships with clients, teammates, and external partners
- Administer contracts align with project scope, policies, and client objectives
- Ensure real-time cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting—eliminating variances and aligned with budgetary commitments
- Proactively manage cash flow and varnce, ensuring correct and timely financial reporting at all stages of projects
- Collaborate with client and contractor teams to deliver on KPIs, programme performance, and objectives, including:
- Cost control
- Value engineering
- Lead contract changes effectively, ensuring:
- Projects remain governed within established frameworks
- Best practice integrity is enforced
- Drive process improvements for forecasts and budget accuracy
- Provide sound commercial decision-making support to all stakeholders
- Negotiate final accounts objectively and collaboratively
- Takes ownership of people management as needed
Qualifications & Experience
Successful applicants will demonstrate:
- Proven cost/commercial management experience (critical)
- Preference for:
- MRICS qualification
- Strong experience with:
- NEC3 contracts, particularly Option C (Target Cost)
- Post-contract administration, including claims and disputes
- Operational background in:
- Large-scale, complex programmes and projects
- Infrastructure sectors, typically:
- Rail
- Aviation (air operations/groundside)
- Marine and ports
- Utilities
- Highways
- Train team leadership and mentorship
