THE PROGRAMME The Associate Development Programme runs for 18 months and has a focus on building the core skills you’ll need to excel in a career in banking. You will be challenged and given the opportunity to grow your skillset, all within a supportive and nurturing environment. You will work alongside a broad set of colleagues, each expert in their respective fields and all with the same mission to support our clients. The programme involves moving through different rotations to build broad and rounded experiences. For the duration, you’ll be aligned to one of two pathways: Relationship Banking or Strategic Fund Solutions. The Relationship Banking pathway focuses on supporting innovation businesses within technology and life sciences, and the Strategic Fund Solutions pathway focuses on supporting the investors who deploy capital within the ecosystem. Expect plenty of hands-on work with the client base you’re supporting. The programme also includes a series of structured trainings to ensure you have the base knowledge you need to succeed. Training spans a variety of subject areas including: • Financial analysis and portfolio management • Credit structuring and underwriting • Client positioning and negotiation • Our product suite and sales strategies • The innovation ecosystem and venture capital funding cycles Pathway – Relationship Banking The Relationship Banking pathway will give you exposure to supporting businesses across a range of life stages and sectors. Our teams cover clients ranging from early-stage VC-backed start-ups through to large, public corporates. You will get involved in day-to-day client management, conducting due diligence, supporting debt & credit structuring, assisting with portfolio management and more. Pathway – Strategic Fund Solutions The Strategic Fund Solutions team manages the Bank’s client relationships with Venture Capital and Private Equity firms in the UK and EMEA. The team is also responsible for structuring debt facilities for prospect funds and management companies. It covers a broad range of transactions and underlying investment thesis – Venture Capital, Growth Equity, Buyout, Credit, Secondaries, and more. Skills and Requirements This may be the job for you if: • Have strong written and verbal communication skills, ideally supported by general financial analysis capability and the ability to read and interpret financial statements. You can articulate complex situations clearly and succinctly. • Have a genuine interest in innovation, particularly in technology and life sciences. • Enjoy tackling challenges, think creatively, and stay persistent. When you don’t know something, you take initiative to find the answer. • Are motivated and results-focused, with strong organisational, time management, and prioritisation skills. You work proactively and ensure tasks are followed through. • Learn quickly and are keen to develop new skills and knowledge. • Work well in a team and independently and remain calm and effective under pressure. • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent); strong numerical background required. PROGRAMME DETAILS: Duration: 18 months Applicants must have graduated in 2025 or be graduating in 2026. Programme begins in September 2026.
