Role Overview

An outstanding opportunity awaits for you to join MUFG as an Associate Digital Channels Product Manager in London.

Daily Duties

As an Associate Digital Channels Product Manager, you will:

  • Design financial models for project and structured finance transactions at intermediate to complex levels.
  • Collaborate internally to deliver comprehensive funding solutions.
  • Engage in client-facing roles by:
    • Addressing queries
    • Participating in meetings
    • Ensuring client satisfaction
  • Review externally sourced financial models.
  • Conduct stress tests in collaboration with deal teams.
  • Mentor junior employees regarding model-building and industry best practices.
  • Prepare key documentation such as:
    • Information memoranda,
    • Supporting authorisation materials.
  • Develop expertise on core systems in structured finance offices to align with regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in occasional international travel.

Specific Tasks

Model Development & Financial Analysis

  • Construct complex financial models tailored for project and structured finance, focusing on Japanese Corporate Banking clients in EMEA.
  • Respond promptly to daily financial model queries from clients and other institutions.
  • Provide expert insights during relevant meetings.

Relationship & Communication

  • Liaise with counterpart clients to relay critical information, address routine enquiries, and maintain exceptional service standards.
  • Foster strong internal relationships to enhance inter-department communication.

Decision Support & Documentation

  • Calculate RORA (Rate of Return on Asset) and swap line analyses to support key decisions.
  • Prepare detailed cash flow analysis papers for investment decisions in collaboration with credit functions.
  • Assist in internal authorisation processes and client-facing presentations.

Essential Requirements

Core Experience

You must have:

  • Substantial experience in constructing project finance models within leading banking settings or equivalent roles.
  • Demonstrated capability in managing complex model builds from inception to completion across diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions within financial institutions.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel alongside expertise in financial modelling IT applications.
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and business acumen to assess project performance influences.

Soft Skills & Approach

  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) to articulate complex concepts clearly and build trusted relationships.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy under tight deadlines or intense workloads.
  • Independent prioritisation skills, paired with considered composure in high-pressure environments.

Education & Qualifications

  • Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience.
  • Preferred: Qualifications in accountancy, finance, or related fields. Supplementary expertise is always valued.

Technical & Functional Competencies

Kerry-Specific Requirements (Optional)

  • Proven track record as an Associate in GTB (Global Transaction Banking) Product Management with:
    • Regional Product Management responsibility for host-to-host channels and Swift platforms.
    • Experience acting as a technical integration specialist between banks and multinational corporations (MNCs), including:
      • Integrating e-banking, host2host, and Swift modules.
      • Managing channel and file format configurations.
  • Independent oversight of full host-to-host channel and Swift products, including:
    • Supporting documentation for technical and business requirements.
    • Target infrastructure and operational model design.
    • Client engagement and volume scaling strategies.

European Payments Expertise

  • In-depth understanding of the European payments ecosystem, including:
    • Low-value and high-value transactions.
    • Instant payments mechanics and TFX interoperability.
    • Principles of ISO 20022 standardism and regulatory reporting compliance.

  • Working fluence in speculative ERP/TMS applications used by MNCs, such as:
