I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

This is not a traditional delivery role. You'll be responsible for creating the roadmap, defining best practice, influencing how analytics is embedded into advisory services and helping shape a future standalone business unit. Supported by senior leadership and an international network, you'll have the platform to build something with lasting impact.

What you'll be doing

  • Lead the rollout of analytics capability across Transaction Services, establishing a scalable model for wider advisory adoption.
  • Shape the analytics and AI strategy, developing methodologies, tools and client-facing solutions that enhance advisory outcomes.
  • Build trusted relationships with Partners and senior stakeholders, translating complex data into commercially actionable insight.
  • Recruit, develop and lead a growing analytics team while helping create a future fee-generating Advisory Analytics offering.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience applying analytics within Transaction Services, Financial Due Diligence, M&A or a closely aligned deal environment.
  • Strong expertise in Python, analytics platforms and data visualisation, with the ability to convert complex datasets into commercial deal insight.
  • Deep understanding of financial reporting, transactional data and advisory decision-making.
  • Experience leading engagements, influencing senior stakeholders and developing high-performing teams.

Who this suits

You're the bridge between analytics and deals. You understand how data can transform decision-making but also appreciate the commercial realities of transactions and advisory engagements.

You may currently be a Manager, Senior Manager or Associate Director looking for a broader platform where you can influence strategy, build capability and accelerate your progression. You're motivated by ownership, enjoy creating new solutions and want the opportunity to build something that could evolve into a significant leadership role.
