Strategic Role within Jacobs’ Bridges and Structures Team

Your Impact
As a valued member of our Bridges and Structures team, you’ll play a pivotal role in our shift toward a solutions-focused provider. By leveraging new technologies, digital processes, and lean methodologies, you’ll drive efficiency and deliver exceptional value across highways, rail, aviation, energy, and power sectors—with a sharp focus on sustainability and decarbonisation.
Your expertise in structural engineering, technical leadership, and cross-disciplinary collaboration will help shape future-proof infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor teams in:
- Structural analysis
- Feasibility studies
- Tender and detailed design
- Production of contract documents and technical reports
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated, high-quality deliverables for clients
- Drive innovation by:
- Identifying data-driven, automated, and standardised solutions
- Optimising project efficiency and productivity
- Collaborate with UK and Global Integrated Delivery teams to:
- Streamline resources
- Ensure on-time and high-performance project delivery

What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related discipline)
- A professional qualification
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and time management skills
- Strong project management and leadership experience (preferably in bridge design or equivalent)
- Outstanding technical design and problem-solving abilities
Preferred (but not exclusive):
- Post-tensioned structures expertise, including special inspections (PTSI)
- Asset management and structural renewals experience
