Associate Director, Bridges and Structures - UK Wide

Structural Solutions Engineer – Bridges & Structures

Your Impact

As a key member of our Bridges and Structures team, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Jacobs’ future as a solutions-focused provider. By integrating new technologies, digital processes, and lean methodologies, you’ll drive efficiency and deliver greater value to our clients while prioritising sustainability and decarbonisation.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and mentoring teams in structural analysis, feasibility studies, tender and detailed designs, and contract documentation
  • Coordinating with other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated, high-quality service delivery
  • Driving innovation by adopting data-driven, automated, and standardised solutions to improve project efficiency
  • Collaborating with UK and global Integrated Delivery teams to optimise resource allocation

Our Structural Solutions capability is deeply embedded within Jacobs’ Transportation business, delivering highly complex projects across the UK and internationally. With clients like High Speed 2 (HS2), National Highways, Network Rail, Welsh Government, and National Contractors, we’re committed to setting the gold standard in infrastructure development.

Who You Are

We are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related discipline)
  • A recognised professional qualification
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and time management skills
  • Proven project management and leadership experience (particularly in bridge design)
  • Exceptional technical design and problem-solving abilities

While bridge experience is valuable, we’re equally open to candidates from diverse industries—asset management, structures renewal, and post-tensioned structures (including PTSIs) are strong pluses.
