Structural Solutions Engineer (Bridge & Structures) – Jacobs

Your impact
As a key member of our Bridges and Structures team, you’ll help drive Jacobs’ transformation into a solutions-focused provider, leveraging new technologies, digital processes, and lean methodologies to enhance efficiency and deliver greater value to clients. With a strong focus on sustainability and decarbonisation, you’ll apply your advanced technical, interpersonal, and organisational skills to deliver structural solutions across sectors including:
- Highways
- Rail
- Aviation
- Energy
- Power
Key responsibilities
- Lead and mentor teams in:
- Structural analysis
- Feasibility studies
- Tender and detailed design
- Production of contract documents and technical reports
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated services and high-quality outcomes for clients
- Drive innovation by identifying and implementing data-driven, automated, and standardised solutions to enhance project efficiency and productivity
- Collaborate with UK and Global Integrated Delivery teams to optimise resources and ensure successful project delivery

About the role

Selection criteria
To excel in this role, you’ll need:
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or a related discipline)
- A professional qualification (e.g., MICE, MIMMM, CPEng, or equivalent)
- Outstanding soft skills:
- Communication, collaboration, and time management
- Project management and leadership (with bridge design experience ideally)
- Strong technical design and problem-solving skills
Ideal but not mandatory:
- Experience in asset management, structures renewals, or post-tensioned systems, particularly post-tensioned special inspections (PTSI)
