W Talent are currently partnered with a Property Consultancy in London who are looking for an Associate Surveyor. This role is for someone who is keen to progress in their career working in a collaborative and supportive team environment. You will be playing a key role in the team working to support on new business development while helping to manage and train juniors within the team.
Job Description
- Manage a portfolio of business rates clients, providing expert advice on rating liabilities, reliefs, exemptions, and mitigation strategies
- Lead business rates appeals through the Check, Challenge, Appeal (CCA) process and negotiate with the Valuation Office Agency (VOA)
- Analyse valuation evidence, rental data, and market information to identify opportunities for rate savings
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on all business rates matters
- Provide strategic rating advice relating to property acquisitions, disposals, developments, and portfolio reviews
- Support and mentor junior surveyors, reviewing work and contributing to their professional development
- Identify and secure new business opportunities, assisting with proposals, tenders, and client presentations
- Ensure all work is delivered in accordance with RICS standards, company procedures, and agreed client deadlines

- Salary: £65,000 - £75,000 + £7,500 travel + £20,000 + £40,000 (Bonus depending on transaction fees)

Requirements
- MRICS qualified with minimum 3+ years PQE experience.
- Significant experience in business rates consultancy, rating appeals, and valuations.
- Strong understanding of UK business rates legislation and practice.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients and complex rating cases.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
