Strategic Finance Associate – North & East Scotland (Based: Aberdeen)

Hybrid working opportunities are available**头 Note that due to the nature of this role, this will include regular travel to customers in the North & East Scotland region and periodic in-office collaboration (potentially monthly in Edinburgh or Aberdeen). The Role: Strategic Finance Associate

Key Responsibilities

As part of our North & East Scotland Strategic Finance team, you’ll:

  • Support Relationship Managers & Senior Directors in growing and retaining our customers.
  • Partner in customer acquisition & relationship management, boosting brand presence in the local and regional market.
  • Collaborate with finance teams to:
    • Evaluate & generate high-value opportunities.
    • Conduct talent sourcing, new business proposals, and credit due diligence, including financial modelling using Excel.
    • Prepare credit applications for existing customers and new transactions.
    • Analyse financial documents and ensure due diligence is on track.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to streamline the onboarding process, month-end administration, and compliance checks (loan & credit agreements, risk administration, etc.).
  • Ensure facility agreements & covenants remain in line with regulations and maintain pre/post-deal standards in collaboration with external partners.

Key Requirements

  • Passion for the UK fishing industry (experience or deep relevance ideal).
  • Strong analytical & financial modelling expertise (e.g., Excel, interpreting credit risk reports).
  • Exceptional soft skills: communication, empathy, negotiation, and problem-solving.
  • Capacity to handle complex finance work, meet tight deadlines, and work independently or collaboratively.
  • A degree/advanced vocational qualification in Finance (or relevant work experience in the fishing sector).
